Where does Kosher Salt come from?
The origins of kosher salt go back thousands of years to ancient sea salt production in the Middle East, where it was extracted from the Dead Sea. It was traditionally used in koshering, a process of removing all blood from meat to make it fit for consumption according to Jewish dietary laws.
