How did Romans sit when they eat?
Romans used a style of furniture for eating known as a triclinium. A triclinium was composed of three dining couches (known as lecti) arranged around a central table. They would recline on the couches, which were long and narrow, similar to modern-day chaise lounges, and used pillows to support themselves at various angles.
