Why rizal eat the dish adobo?

José Rizal, the Philippines' national hero, did not eat adobo as a dish during his lifetime. Adobo is a traditional Filipino dish made with meat stewed in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and bay leaves. However, this dish gained popularity in the Philippines during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, after Rizal's time, which was the late 19th century.
