Does a worm grow in tequila?
There is no worm that grows in tequila. The worm found in some bottles of mezcal, a different Mexican spirit, is the larva of a moth called the "gusano rojo" (red worm). It is intentionally added to the bottle as a marketing gimmick and has no actual impact on the flavor or quality of the mezcal.
