Why can urine smell like grape juice?
Urine should not normally smell like grape juice. A sweet or fruity odor to urine can sometimes indicate a medical condition called diabetic ketoacidosis, which occurs when the body starts breaking down fat for fuel instead of glucose, leading to a buildup of ketones in the urine. It is important to see a doctor if your urine has a persistent fruity odor, as diabetic ketoacidosis can be serious and requires medical treatment.
