How do you get fabric softner stains out?
To remove fabric softener stains:
1. Blot up the stain as soon as possible. Don't rub it, as this can spread the stain and make it more difficult to remove.
2. Rinse the stain with cold water. Hold the fabric under a stream of cold water, or soak the stained area in a basin of cold water.
3. Apply a stain remover. You can use a commercial stain remover or make your own by mixing equal parts white vinegar and baking soda. Apply the stain remover to the stain and let it sit for several minutes.
4. Wash the fabric as usual. Wash the stained fabric in the hottest water recommended for the fabric type. Add the recommended amount of detergent and fabric softener.
5. Check the stain before drying the fabric. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 2-4.
6. Dry the fabric as usual.
Here are some additional tips for removing fabric softener stains:
* Test the stain remover on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric before using it on the entire stain.
* Rinse the fabric thoroughly after applying the stain remover.
* Avoid using hot water to wash the fabric, as this can set the stain.
* If the stain persists, take the fabric to a professional dry cleaner.
Additional Tip
If the fabric softener stain is on a delicate fabric, such as silk or wool, you can use a mild dish soap instead of a stain remover. To do this, mix a few drops of dish soap with a cup of cold water. Apply the solution to the stain and let it sit for several minutes. Rinse the fabric thoroughly and wash it as usual.
