How long should you wait to breastfeed your child after drinking wine?
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that breastfeeding mothers avoid drinking alcohol. Alcohol can pass from a mother's milk to her baby, and even small amounts can have a negative impact on the child's development.
If you do choose to drink alcohol, the AAP recommends that you wait 2-3 hours before breastfeeding your child. This will allow time for the alcohol to be broken down and removed from your body.
For more information, you can talk to your doctor or a lactation consultant.
