Why there is no red champagne?
Red grapes produce red wine (or pink Champagne), but red Champagne doesn’t exist for a few reasons. First of all, making Champagne is costly and time-consuming, and any mistake would entail important losses for the producer. Second, if red wines are more stable thanks to their pigments, these pigments would bring problems during second fermentation in bottle, which is needed to make true Champagne.
