Why does it not hurt when you put out candles by wetting your fingers and quickly pinching the flame?
This premise is incorrect. Blowing on a flame or pinching it while putting it out are potentially both dangerous and should be avoided. When you pinch the flame, you bring your fingers very close to the source of heat, which not only may burn you but also transfer heat to the flammable wax pool, raising the risk of fire.
