How long can you leave venison out?
The maximum amount of time that you can leave raw venison out is *two hours* according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).[1][2] However, it is generally recommended that you do not leave raw venison out for more than one hour, especially if the temperature is above 90 °F (32 °C).
Leaving venison out for too long can allow harmful bacteria to grow and multiply. Some bacteria, such as *E. coli* and Salmonella, can cause foodborne illness.
