What is the recipe for durian sherbet?
Durian Sherbet Recipe
This recipe uses canned durian for convenience, but feel free to use fresh durian if you prefer.
Ingredients:
* 1 (13.5 oz) can durian fruit in syrup, drained
* 1 cup heavy cream
* 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
* Optional: durian puree (from leftover durian fruit)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the durian: Drain the canned durian and remove any large chunks of fruit. You can mash it further if you prefer a smoother texture.
2. Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the durian, heavy cream, condensed milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
3. Chill: Cover the bowl and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight. This will allow the mixture to thicken.
4. Freeze: Pour the chilled mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze for 2-3 hours, or until firm.
5. Blend: Remove the frozen mixture from the freezer and allow it to soften slightly. Transfer to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
6. Serve: Scoop the durian sherbet into bowls and enjoy!
Tips:
* Adjust sweetness: You can add more sugar or condensed milk to taste.
* Add durian puree: For a stronger durian flavor, add a few tablespoons of durian puree to the mixture before freezing.
* Make ahead: This sherbet can be made ahead of time and stored in the freezer for up to a month.
* Serve cold: This sherbet is best enjoyed cold!
