What does jellyfish use to get food?

Jellyfish don't have mouths or teeth! They get their food using a special structure called tentacles.

Here's how it works:

* Tentacles: These are long, trailing arms covered in stinging cells called nematocysts.

* Stinging Cells: These cells contain tiny, coiled threads that release a paralyzing venom when triggered.

* Catching Prey: When a small animal, like a fish or plankton, brushes against the tentacles, the nematocysts fire, paralyzing the prey.

* Bringing Food to the Mouth: The paralyzed prey is then brought to the jellyfish's mouth, which is located in the center of its bell-shaped body.

So, although jellyfish may look harmless, their tentacles are powerful hunting tools!
