Where are hermit crabs from?

Hermit crabs are found in marine environments around the world, from the tropics to the poles. The only places they are not found are in freshwater habitats and on land far away from the ocean. They inhabit every ocean, from the shallows to the deep sea, and can even be found in tide pools and coral reefs.
