Is shrimp considered a meat product?
That's a good question, and it depends on how you define "meat".
* Technically, shrimp are not meat. Meat is generally defined as the flesh of mammals.
* Shrimp are crustaceans. They are classified as seafood, which includes fish, shellfish, and other aquatic animals.
* From a culinary perspective, shrimp are often treated like meat. They are cooked in similar ways and used in many of the same dishes.
So, while shrimp isn't technically meat, it is often considered and used in the same way as meat in cooking.
