How old can chickens live?

Chickens have different lifespans depending on their breed and other factors. On average, most domestic chickens live for about 5 to 10 years. However, some breeds like Rhode Island Reds can live for up to 15 years. With exceptional care and in ideal conditions, some chickens have been known to live for up to 20 years or even more. Factors such as proper nutrition, a stress-free environment, and good veterinary care can all contribute to a longer lifespan for chickens.
