How long do you cook a precooked or smoked ham?
You generally don't need to cook a precooked or smoked ham! They're already fully cooked, so you can enjoy them right out of the package.
However, you might want to heat it up for a more appealing texture and flavor. Here's how:
* Oven: Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Place ham in a roasting pan and cover with foil. Bake for 15-20 minutes per pound, or until heated through.
* Slow Cooker: Place ham in a slow cooker and cover with water or broth. Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until heated through.
* Stovetop: Place ham in a large pot and cover with water or broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through.
Important Note: Make sure the ham is heated to an internal temperature of at least 140°F (60°C) for food safety.
