How long should you leave a steak to rest?
The recommended resting time for a steak depends on the thickness of the steak and your desired doneness. As a general guideline:
- For rare or medium-rare steaks, let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes.
- For medium steaks, let the steak rest for 10-15 minutes.
- For well-done steaks, let the steak rest for 15-20 minutes.
Letting the steak rest allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
