Why do you use the barbecue on Australia day?
It's not necessarily accurate to claim that barbecuing is exclusively tied to Australia Day (January 26th). While having barbecues or cookouts are indeed quite popular during the warm summers that coincide with Australia Day celebrations, barbecuing itself is a common recreational activity that can be enjoyed regardless of national events or dates. It has become ingrained in the broader culture there over many years.
