How do you change the burner tubes on a weber propane grill?
To replace or change burner tubes on a Weber propane grill, follow these steps:
1. Gather the necessary tools and parts. You will need:
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
- New burner tubes (match the size and shape of your existing burner tubes)
- Safety glasses
- Grill gloves
2. Prepare your grill. Turn off the gas supply and allow the grill to cool down. Disconnect the fuel hose from the tank, if necessary.
3. Remove the old burner tubes. Use the flat blade screwdriver to lift up the metal flap that covers the burner tube connection at the back of the grill. Then, loosen the screws holding the burner tubes to the manifold using the screwdriver. Remove the old burner tubes and discard.
4. Clean the manifold and burner tubes area. Remove built-up grease or rust from the manifold and the area where the burner tubes connect. This can be done with the grill brush or a degreaser.
5. Insert the new burner tubes into the manifold**. Gently push them all the way until they are seated properly, ensuring that the gas inlets align correctly.
6. Reconnect the fuel hose. Reconnect the fuel hose to the tank if you disconnected it earlier. Open the gas supply and check for leaks. Apply soapy water to the hose and valve connections to check for bubbles.
7. Secure the burner tubes. Use the screwdriver to tighten the screws that hold the burner tubes to the manifold.
8. Replace the metal flap. Fold down the metal flap and secure it by pushing the tabs back in place. This helps to prevent flare-ups and protect the burner tubes.
9. Test the grill. Turn on the gas and ignite the grill. Check that all the burners ignite properly and that there are no gas leaks.
10. Replace any other defective or damaged components as necessary. After completing these steps, you should have successfully replaced the burner tubes on your Weber propane grill.
