How to Grill Scallops and Shrimp

Summertime is get ready time for the barbecue. Grill seafood, shrimp, scallops and lobster. Grill Steak,hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, fish and eat outside in the cool breezes. Easy to make and delicious to eat for either lunch or dinner. Serve the outdoor grilled shrimp and scallops with a side of coleslaw or potato salad on. Add thick cuts of vegetables of choice along with grape tomatoes onto the skewer between the shrimp and scallops.

Things You'll Need

  • 15 skewers
  • Juice of 3 lemons
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 4 tbsp fresh dill
  • 2 1/4 lbs. peeled and cleaned large shrimp
  • 2 lbs scallops
  • Black pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the grill to medium heat.

  2. Wash the shrimp and scallops and pat them dry with paper towels.

  3. Combine the lemon juice, olive oil and garlic in a mixing bowl. Stir lightly with a wooden mixing spoon and add the salt, pepper and dill; keep stirring until well blended.

  4. Add the shrimp and scallops to the bowl and, using your hands or a spoon, gently coat and season them with the mixture.

  5. Thread the scallops and shrimp on the skewers. Place the skewers on the heated grill until they are opaque, about 3 minutes per side. Rotate the skewers to make sure they are fully cooked.
