How to Install a Natural Gas Barbeque
Natural gas grills connect to a residential fuel line with a standard coupler and hose, ensuring that you never run out of gas for your barbecue as long as the gas bill is kept up to date. This is one advantage over propane tanks, which eventually run out and must be refueled. If you've been grilling any length of time, you may have experienced the hassle of a dry propane tank and cold burners midway through your barbecue. Hooking up a natural gas grill solves this problem.
Things You'll Need
- Natural gas fuel line and coupler
Instructions
-
Roll the grill into position on your deck or patio within connecting distance of your fuel line's valve on the natural gas pipe.
-
Shut off the natural gas at the supply valve on the pipe, twisting the knob clockwise.
-
Insert the fuel line's input coupler on the nozzle of the natural gas pipe valve and twist clockwise to lock it in place.
-
Fasten the other end of the fuel line to the nozzle on the rear of your gas grill, again twisting the coupler clockwise to lock it in place.
-
Turn on the natural gas by twisting the shutoff knob counterclockwise, and check for gas leaks along the fuel line to the grill. If you smell gas, cut off the supply and recheck your connections for a tight seal.
