What type of eater is a star fish?
Starfish are carnivores, meaning they eat other animals.
They have a few different ways of hunting, depending on the species:
* Filter feeders: Some starfish filter plankton and other small organisms out of the water.
* Predators: Many starfish prey on bivalves like clams and mussels. They pry open the shells with their tube feet and evert their stomachs to digest the prey inside.
* Scavengers: Starfish will also scavenge on dead or decaying animals.
