What do craw fish eat?

Crawfish are omnivores and will eat a variety of food, both plant and animal matter. Some of the things that crawfish eat include:

- Aquatic plants, such as algae, duckweed, and watercress

- Decomposing organic matter, such as dead leaves and twigs

- Small animals, such as insects, worms, and snails

- Fish eggs and fry

- Other crawfish

Crawfish typically forage for food at night, using their claws to search through the mud and vegetation. They will also eat dead or dying fish that they find in the water.

In some cases, crawfish may become a nuisance species when they compete with native wildlife for food and habitat. They can also damage crops and levees.
