Does sockeye salmons live in the ocean?

Sockeye salmons are anadromous fish, meaning they live part of their lives in freshwater and part in saltwater. They spend the first two years of their lives in freshwater rivers and lakes, then migrate to the Pacific Ocean where they spend the next two to four years. During their time in the ocean, sockeye salmon travel great distances, sometimes crossing the entire North Pacific Ocean. When it's time to spawn, they return to the rivers and lakes where they were born. So yes, sockeye salmon do live in the ocean.
