What would make a better fish for cooking and eating -- koi or large goldfish?

Neither koi nor large goldfish make good fish for cooking or eating. They are primarily kept as ornamental fish for ponds and aquariums because their purpose is mainly aesthetic. Some other fish are specifically better suited as a food source compared to others, particularly those raised at fish farms or caught through recreational fishing practices.
