Can you keep discus fish with goldfish?
Discus fish and goldfish have very different requirements for water quality and temperature, so it is not advisable to keep them together in the same tank. Discus fish require soft, acidic water with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0, while goldfish prefer hard, alkaline water with a pH between 7.2 and 8.4. Discus fish also require a water temperature between 82°F and 90°F, while goldfish can tolerate a wider range of temperatures, from 65°F to 75°F. Additionally, discus fish are tropical fish that originate from South America, while goldfish are coldwater fish that originate from East Asia. These different origins mean that the two species have different dietary requirements and behaviors.
