How big of a fish tank does discus need?
The ideal tank size for discus fish depends on the number of discus you plan to keep, as well as your desired level of comfort for the fish. Generally speaking, a group of 6-8 discus fish will thrive in a tank that is at least 75 gallons in size. If you plan to keep a larger group of discus, or if you want to provide them with more swimming space, a tank size of 100 gallons or more is recommended. It's important to remember that discus fish are relatively delicate and require pristine water conditions, so they should be kept in a well-maintained and filtered aquarium. Additionally, discus fish prefer aquariums with low water flow, so gentle filtration is essential.
