How long can you keep raw duck meat in the fridge?
You should keep raw duck meat in the fridge for no more than 1-2 days.
Here's why:
* Bacteria growth: Raw meat is a breeding ground for bacteria, which can cause food poisoning. Refrigeration slows down this process, but doesn't stop it completely.
* Duck meat is more prone to spoilage: Duck meat is naturally higher in fat than chicken, making it more susceptible to spoilage and bacteria growth.
To ensure safety, always:
* Store duck meat in the coldest part of your fridge, below 40°F (4°C).
* Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or store in a sealed container.
* Use it within 1-2 days, or freeze it for longer storage.
Remember, when in doubt, throw it out! If you're unsure about the freshness of your duck meat, it's better to err on the side of caution and discard it.
