If we bought a cooked chicken and left it out overnight will still be okay to eat?
It is not safe to eat a cooked chicken that has been left out overnight. Cooked chicken should not be left out at room temperature for more than two hours. After two hours, the chicken is in the danger zone, where bacteria can grow rapidly and cause foodborne illness. Even if the chicken was refrigerated after being left out, it is not safe to eat because the bacteria can continue to grow in the refrigerator.
When you cook chicken, you kill the harmful bacteria that can make you sick. However, if the chicken is left out at room temperature for too long, the bacteria can start to grow again. Even if you reheat the chicken, the bacteria may not be killed if the chicken was not cooked to a high enough temperature.
