How to Marinate Chicken in Coconut Milk (5 Steps)

Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup sweetened coconut milk
  • Gallon-sized freezer bag
  • 1/4 cup minced cilantro
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • 1 tbsp. curry powder
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp. fresh ginger
  • Grater
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of sweetened coconut milk into a gallon-sized freezer bag. Add 1/4 cup of minced cilantro, 1 tbsp of curry powder and 2 cloves of minced garlic.

  2. Peel and grate 2 tablespoon of fresh ginger. Add the ginger to the marinade.

  3. Place two chicken breasts on a cutting board. Slice them into inch wide strips with a sharp knife.

  4. Put the strips of chicken into the plastic bag, squeeze out the air and seal it. Gently shake the bag up and down to mix the ingredients and cover the strips of chicken.

  5. Place the marinade in the fridge for one hour before cooking.
