How did Prophet Muhammad celebrate Eid?
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) celebrated Eid with great joy and enthusiasm. Here are some ways he celebrated Eid:
Prayers:
- Eid prayers are an essential part of celebrating Eid. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged Muslims to attend Eid prayers in congregation. After the prayers, Muslims would engage in Takbir (saying Allahu Akbar) and supplications.
Feasting and Enjoyment:
- Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged Muslims to feast and enjoy themselves on Eid. He would distribute meat and food among his family, friends, and the needy.
- Muslims would cook special dishes and sweets for Eid. Families and communities would gather together to share meals and celebrate the festivities.
Giving Charity (Sadaqah):
- Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the importance of giving charity, especially during Eid. Muslims would give sadaqah to the poor and needy to spread joy and alleviate suffering.
Visiting Relatives and Friends:
- Eid was an occasion to strengthen family and community bonds. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would visit and exchange greetings with his relatives and friends.

Wearing New Clothes:

Reviving Sunnahs:
- Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) upheld various Sunnahs (traditions) on Eid that Muslims continued to follow. For instance, he would not fast on the day of Eid, use miswak (a teeth cleaning stick), and apply perfume.
Gratitude and Remembrance of Allah:
- Above all, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the significance of expressing gratitude to Allah for the blessings and bounties bestowed upon the Muslim community. He encouraged Muslims to remember Allah and engage in acts of devotion during Eid.
