How to Make Prime Rib Pan Gravy (3 Steps)
Once you have roasted your prime rib you will have these wonderful tasty drippings that you should not waste. Here is a recipe that will go great with your roast.
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup wine
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 qt beef stock
- salt and pepper
Instructions
-
First you will want to remove your roast and let it rest. Take your butter in a pan and let it melt. Whisk the flour in to make a paste also known as a roux. Add beef stock whisking vigorously. Let this thicken over medium heat. It will need to simmer for the flour to cook out. Don't let it boil and whisk often to avoid lumps.
-
Place the roasting pan over hi heat and add cup of wine to deglaze. Stir trying to get everything of the bottom of the pan. You will want to let this reduce until it is about a half cup liquid.
-
Strain the pan dripping into the thickened gravy. Season to taste with salt and pepper. The prime rib roast recipe link is in the resource section below.
