Do koalas drink water from rivers?
Koalas rarely drink water, and get most of their hydration from the eucalyptus leaves that make up their diet. When they do drink, it is usually from water sources high up in the gum trees, such as the base of a leaf fork or tree hollow. On very hot days or in times of drought, they may seek water from creeks, rivers, or other sources close to the ground.
