Is it bad for a cow to have 6 teats?

It is not bad or abnormal for a cow to have six teats. Some cow breeds, such as the Holstein-Friesian, commonly have six functional teats.

The number of teats on a cow is determined by the cow's genetics. Most dairy cows have four functional teats, but some breeds, like the Holstein, can have six. The extra teats are usually located in between the front and back pair of teats.

Having six teats does not affect the cow's health or milk production. In fact, some dairy farmers prefer cows with six teats because they can milk more milk from them.
