How was the ice cream cone inveted?

It is believed that the ice cream cone was invented by a Syrian immigrant named Ernest Hamwi, who owned a waffle stand in the United States. Ernest came up with the idea of rolling up the waffles into cones and selling them as ice cream holders in the summer. On July 23rd, 1904 he debuted the ice cream cone at the St. Louis World's Fair. Ernest’s ice cream cones were a huge hit and he quickly became known as "the ice cream cone king."
