How is uva ursi taken?
By Mouth: For urinary tract infections (UTIs), the usual dose is 0.5 to 1 gram (g) of dried uva ursi leaves in the form of a tea, taken three to four times a day.
As an infusion: To make uva ursi tea, steep 1 teaspoon of dried leaves in 1 cup of boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain and drink.
As a tincture: Uva ursi tincture is typically taken in a dose of 2 to 4 milliliters (mL) three times daily.
As an extract: Uva ursi extract is typically taken in a dose of 100 to 200 milligrams (mg) three times daily.
It is important to follow the dosing instructions on the product label or as directed by your doctor. Uva ursi should not be taken for more than 2 weeks at a time without consulting a doctor.
