How to Make Orange Tea
You only have to walk through your grocery store's tea aisle to see all the different flavors available for tea. Tea is a popular drink because it is so versatile. You can drink tea year-round, hot or cold. Compared with many other drinks, such as soda, orange tea is inexpensive. Decaffeinated orange tea is available if you are reducing caffeine in your diet. Orange tea is a good complement to wafers, cookies and dark chocolate candies.
Things You'll Need
- Glass cookware pot with lid Wooden spoon 5 tbsp. orange pekoe tea leaves 4 cups water Large measuring cup Tea strainer Tea pitcher 2 cups freshly squeezed unsweetened orange juice 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice 1/4 cup sugar or sugar substitute Plastic wrap Chilled glasses
Instructions

Pour water into glass cookware pot. Place on heat source. Turn heat source on high. Bring water to rolling boil. Remove cookware pot from heat source. Turn off heat source.

Put 5 tbsp. orange tea leaves in hot water. Cover pot with lid. Allow to steep for 10 minutes.

Pour orange tea from pot through tea strainer into pitcher. Rinse tea strainer.

Pour 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice and 1/2 cup lime juice through tea strainer into pitcher. Rinse tea strainer and set aside.

Add 1/4 cup sugar or sugar substitute. Stir with wooden spoon until dissolved. Cover opening of pitcher with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for minimum of 1 hour to chill.

Pour into chilled glasses and serve.
