How to Make Bee Balm Tea
With a healthy does of antioxidants, bee balm tea has properties that make it a natural diuretic, antiseptic and stimulant. Bee balm, which is a member of the mint family, is enjoyed for its flavor, and used to treat everything from colds, headaches, gastric disorders, sore throats, menstrual pain and nausea. The bee balm plant is a hardy perennial herb that emerges in mid-summer through late fall. The dark green oval leaves are edible, along with the tight clusters of long tubular flowers which can be red, pink or purple in color. The minty herbal flavor makes bee balm perfect for tea.
