How to Make Slushies With Sangria Punch
Sangria, a wine-based punch, is often sipped during the spring and summer months on patios and at barbecues to help beat back the hot sun. Serving sangria blended and frozen not only adds a slushie-like texture to the punch, but it will add to your warm weather defenses. Since most sangrias have quite a few ingredients that won't actually mix well in a blender, it's best to make a rudimentary punch that captures the intended frozen flavor with less of a mess.
Things You'll Need
- Red wine
- Orange juice
- Brandy
- Ice
- Blender
Instructions
-
Fill the blender three-fourths to five-sixths full of ice. Any kind of ice will do -- if using crushed ice, fill the blender to the top because the other ingredients will melt the top part.
-
Add 6 parts red wine, one part each orange juice and brandy and one-quarter part lime juice. Expensive ingredients aren't necessary for the overall flavors, so pour orange juice from concentrate, bottled lime juice, cooking brandy and inexpensive red wine.
-
Secure the lid on the blender and blend on medium to high for a few minutes or until the mixture transforms into a slushy consistency. Store in the refrigerator until time to serve so the slushie punch doesn't become too watery.
