How did a drink named Shirely Temple originate?

Shirley Temple did not originate a drink named after her. Her mother, Gertrude Temple, was consulted before the drink was marketed to ensure that it was palatable for children and in keeping with the wholesome image of Shirley Temple, the child actress. Hence the name Shirley Temple was used for the drink.
