How to Make a Strawberry Vodka Infusion (4 Steps)

A vodka infusion is a great way to use up sweet strawberries that are on the verge of being overripe. Mix the infusion with lemon juice for a twist on strawberry lemonade, or with plain soda water or grapefruit- or orange-flavored pop.

Things You'll Need

  • 3 quart-sized Mason jars
  • Cheesecloth
  • Large bowl
  • 4 pints strawberries
  • 1 750ml bottle vodka

Instructions

  1. Hull the strawberries, rinse them well and cut each in half. Place equal amounts of strawberries into three clean Mason jars.

  2. Divide the vodka equally into each jar. Screw the lids on tightly.

  3. Store the jars in a cool, dry place for at least three days — no more than five days is necessary to make the infusion.

  4. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth stretched over a large bowl. Mix the infusion into drinks or transfer the infusion back to the jars or the empty vodka bottle for storage.
