How to Make a Strawberry Vodka Infusion (4 Steps)
A vodka infusion is a great way to use up sweet strawberries that are on the verge of being overripe. Mix the infusion with lemon juice for a twist on strawberry lemonade, or with plain soda water or grapefruit- or orange-flavored pop.
Things You'll Need
- 3 quart-sized Mason jars
- Cheesecloth
- Large bowl
- 4 pints strawberries
- 1 750ml bottle vodka
Instructions
-
Hull the strawberries, rinse them well and cut each in half. Place equal amounts of strawberries into three clean Mason jars.
-
Divide the vodka equally into each jar. Screw the lids on tightly.
-
Store the jars in a cool, dry place for at least three days — no more than five days is necessary to make the infusion.
-
Strain the mixture through cheesecloth stretched over a large bowl. Mix the infusion into drinks or transfer the infusion back to the jars or the empty vodka bottle for storage.
