Does grape juice effect chemical reaction in a galvanized container?

Grape juice, like many fruit juices, contains citric acid and other organic acids. Galvanized containers are made of steel that has been coated with zinc to protect it from corrosion. Zinc is a reactive metal, and it can react with the acids in grape juice to form metal salts that can affect the taste and appearance of the juice.

In addition, the reaction between galvanized steel and grape juice can produce hydrogen gas, which can create pressure inside a closed container and pose a safety risk. For these reasons, it is not recommended to store grape juice or other acidic liquids in galvanized containers.
