How much protein is there in coffee?

Coffee itself contains very little protein. A typical cup of coffee (8 ounces) has about 0.5-1 gram of protein.

Here's why:

* Coffee beans are primarily carbohydrates. They contain some protein, but it's not a significant amount.

* The brewing process extracts mostly caffeine and other compounds, not protein.

* Milk and cream added to coffee can increase the protein content. For example, a latte with whole milk could have around 7-8 grams of protein.

If you're looking for a significant protein boost, coffee alone won't be enough.
