How do you make a espresso?
To make an espresso, you will need the following equipment:
- An espresso machine
- Coffee beans
- A coffee grinder
- A tamper
- A milk pitcher
- A thermometer
Instructions:
1. Grind the coffee beans.
• The grind should be fine but not powdery.
• Use about 7-8 grams of coffee for a single shot of espresso.
2. Tamp the coffee grounds.
• Place the coffee grounds in the portafilter and tamp them down firmly with the tamper.
• Make sure the coffee is evenly distributed and tamped down firmly to ensure proper extraction.
3. Insert the portafilter into the espresso machine.
• Lock the portafilter into place and make sure it is secure.
4. Turn on the espresso machine.
• Allow the machine to heat up to the desired temperature (between 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit).
5. Place a cup or espresso glass under the portafilter.
• Make sure the cup or glass is large enough to hold the espresso (about 1-2 ounces).
6. Press the button to start the espresso extraction.
• The espresso should start to flow into the cup or glass.
• The extraction should stop automatically when the desired amount of espresso has been extracted (about 30-40 seconds).
7. Add steamed milk.
• For a cappuccino, steam about 6-8 ounces of milk until it is hot and frothy.
• Gently pour the steamed milk into the cup of espresso.
8. Enjoy your espresso or cappuccino!
