How was the coffee maker originally made?

Originally, coffee makers were not made at all, they were discovered.

The earliest evidence of coffee drinking dates back to the 15th century in Yemen. Coffee drinking spread to the rest of the Middle East, North Africa, and eventually Europe. The first coffee makers were simple metal pots with a spout and a handle. The coffee grounds were placed in the pot and boiling water was poured over them. The coffee was then left to steep for a few minutes before being served.
