What is a standard cocktail?
A standard cocktail contains two ounces of spirits. When combined with other cocktail ingredients, this usually equates to a six-ounce drink. The two ounces of spirits can be broken up into different spirits as long as they add up to two ounces. Most cocktails follow this rule, but there are several exceptions.
