How to Mix Drinks With Bailey's
Bailey's Irish Cream is an Irish whiskey-based cream liqueur produced in Belfast, Ireland, that is used most commonly in sweet or dessert-like beverages. The liqueur is sweet and contains only 17 percent alcohol by volume. Bailey's can be mixed hot or cold with a variety of milk, cream, chocolate, caramel and nutty flavors. Ice cream shakes, sundaes and even hot chocolate can be mixed with Bailey's to create sophisticated adult versions of classic desserts.
Instructions
-
Mix a Chocolate Leprechaun. A Chocolate Leprechaun is an adult version of classic chocolate milk with the addition of the nutty flavor of Bailey's. For a single serving, mix together 7 oz. of milk, 1 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream and 2 tbsp. chocolate syrup. Stir with a spoon or mixing stick.
-
Mix an Irish Immigrant. An Irish Immigrant plays off of the combination of Irish and classic American flavors. Mix 4 oz. of Bailey's Irish Cream with 1 ½ cans of vanilla coke and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and gently stir. The result is a soda-shop classic kicked up a notch with international flair.
-
Mix an Irish Dream. An Irish Dream is a frothy, blended drink and is slightly more complicated than the Leprechaun or Immigrant, but it incorporates multiple liqueurs and flavors. Add 1 cup crushed ice to a blender and pour in ½ oz. hazelnut liqueur, ½ oz Bailey's Irish Cream, ¾ oz. crème de cacao and 4 oz. vanilla ice cream. Blend until smooth. Poor into a beer or ice cream glass and top with whipped cream.
-
Mix a Nutty Irishman. Though Irishmen are known more commonly as tea drinkers, the Nutty Irishman blends coffee flavor with Bailey's to create a creamy iced latte. Combine 2 oz. Bailey's with a Hint of Coffee (sold separately), 0.25 oz. hazelnut liqueur and 0.25 oz. vanilla flavored vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and poor into a glass over ice. Top with whipped cream.
-
Mix Bailey's with hot chocolate or eggnog. Bailey's also can be mixed and served hot in your favorite holiday drinks. To mix a Bailey's Spiced Nog, combine 2 oz. Bailey's Irish Cream with 0.5 oz. spiced rum, 1 dash Angostura bitters and 1 dash Allspice Dram. Add to 2 oz. hot egg nog and sprinkle with ground nutmeg. To mix a Bailey's hot chocolate, add 2 oz. Bailey's to 1 cup hot chocolate. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar.
