A Little Punch

• Punch is a sweet party drink that can be made to taste with a variety of fruit juices and alcohol. Adding coconut liqueur adds sweetness and ups the alcohol content. Coconut liqueur will also give your punch a more tropical taste. Many punches contain rum or brandy as well, so these drinks can have a strong punch. • Create a delicious tropical drink by adding coconut liqueur to your cocktail. The Bahama Mama is a island-themed cocktail made with rum, coffee liqueur, coconut liqueur and pineapple juice, shaken well with ice and poured into a collins glass filled with ice. The Blue Hawaiian features pineapple juice, rum, blue curacao and coconut liqueur, all stirred and poured into a collins glass filled with ice. Top tropical drinks with an island-themed garnish, such as a wedge of pineapple or cocktail umbrella.

• A shooter is traditionally a straight shot of alcohol taken neat. Some drinks called shooters are served with a variety of ingredients all in a shot glass. For example, a Porto Covo is equal parts absinthe, vodka, banana liqueur and coconut liqueur, mixed well and served in a shot glass. For a colorful drink, make an Emerald Shot by layering equal parts of coconut liqueur and melon liqueur, then finishing with banana liqueur on top. Consume a shooter all at once.
