Who are the founders of PepsiCo?
PepsiCo was founded in 1965 through the merger of two iconic companies: Pepsi-Cola Company and Frito-Lay. Calvin Griffith, the owner of the Pepsi-Cola Company since 1931, played a pivotal role in the merger.
Donald M. Kendall, the CEO of Pepsi-Cola at the time, is widely regarded as the architect behind the merger. Recognizing the potential synergies and benefits of combining the two businesses, Kendall spearheaded negotiations and discussions with Herman W. Lay, the chairman of Frito-Lay.
With a shared vision for growth and expansion, Griffith, Kendall, and Lay collectively contributed to the formation of PepsiCo. Their contributions laid the foundation for the company's success and solidified its position as a leading global food and beverage corporation.
