What is bud light?
Bud Light, introduced in January 1982 by Anheuser-Busch,[2] is a type of American-Style light lager produced by Anheuser-Busch InBev. It is a pale golden-colored lager with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 4.2%. Bud Light is described by Anheuser-Busch as "a smooth, easy-drinking beer with a crisp, refreshing taste". It is the best-selling beer by volume in the United States,[3][4] and is also the best-selling light beer. An average twelve-ounce bottle of Bud Light contains 145 calories.[5]
Bud Light was introduced as a response to the growing popularity of light beers in the United States. In 1980, Miller Lite, a light beer produced by Miller Brewing Company, was introduced and quickly became the best-selling light beer. Anheuser-Busch executives developed Bud Light as a way to compete with Miller Lite.
Bud Light was an instant success. In 1983, it became the best-selling light beer in the United States. Bud Light continued to grow in popularity and, in 1987, it became the best-selling beer overall in the United States.
Bud Light has been produced at Anheuser-Busch breweries in St. Louis, Missouri; Newark, New Jersey; Fairfield, California; and Houston, Texas. In addition, Bud Light is produced at contract breweries in Memphis, Tennessee; Williamsburg, Virginia; Fort Collins, Colorado; and Los Angeles, California.
Bud Light has been marketed through a variety of advertising campaigns. Some of the most famous Bud Light commercials include the "Real Men of Genius" campaign, which featured celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Hasselhoff, and Chuck Norris, and the "I Love You, Man" campaign, which featured actors such as Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd.
Bud Light is a popular beer among sports fans. It is the official beer of Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, and the National Hockey League. Bud Light is also a popular beer at tailgating events and other sporting events.
Bud Light is a controversial beer. Some people believe that it is a low-quality beer, while others believe that it is a good value for the price. Bud Light has also been criticized for its marketing campaigns, which have been accused of being sexist and offensive.
Despite the controversy, Bud Light remains the best-selling beer by volume in the United States. It is a popular beer among sports fans, tailgaters, and other consumers looking for a low-cost, light beer.
